Granny D`s in Canyon Lake

Fantastic service and delicious food! The portions are gigantic especially their famous huge pancakes! I recommend at least getting a pancake to go if you can't finish one at your meal! It was definitely worth it. I got the cinnamon roll one and thought it was plenty sweet and yummy! (FYI - the pancakes were bigger than my hand) If you are in the area make a stop here for a meal! We ate dinner on a Friday and we had no wait to be seated. I hear Saturdays and Sundays for breakfast are a busy time because they offer a buffet option - just as a fair warning!

Best breakfast I have ever had.!❤️This is mine and my fiance's new favorite place. We were warned by the very sweet and attentive waitress about the size of the pancakes and assumed it was an over exaggeration. When our food arrived we realized it was anything but an exaggeration we got so full we were able to save half of his pancakes and take mine home for the family.

Came to the restaurant wait about 10 minutes to be seated which is fine. Told my friend out table is ready that was at 12:39. They got they’re food at 1:45. We got our food at 1:50.

Great service, only been here for breakfast and it's delicious. The whole menu looks really good.

My son and I stopped in here today. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with both the food and the value. I had the catfish. It was crisp and fresh. We will definitely stop by here again next time we are in the area.

Food was delicious, staff very friendly. The food was a little cold and the hash browns were delicious but way undercooked. I'll ask for them to be crispy next time. It may just be because we came at the end of a rush but that shouldnt be an excuse. However, we will continue to go back as our weekend breakfast place. What was wrong can be fixed.

Granny D's. The local place that people come visit from miles away. One of the top chicken fried steaks in the state... This place is definitely in the top ten. And I've had most of them from most of the lists throughout the state.Breakfast food. All day. And it's delicious. Get there early. Get a piece of pie with dinner if you go on the weekend. Tip well. These ladies work hard and I've always had good service here. 1 pound bacon burger, cheese burger... Whatever you get, it's good.

Friendly staff. Food was great. We had breakfast. Large portions. French toast was the best that we've had in a long time. Our waitress was attentive and the food was served promptly. The staff does a good job cleaning between customers. All staff was wearing masks. We arrived around 9:00am. There was no wait. When we left it was starting to get busy. Several families waiting.

The food is AMAZING!!!! Service was great, excellent prices. We fed a family of 9 for only $50. We will definitely be back to eat again.

Everything was great except the coffee. Coffee wasn't horrid just more watered down. The coffee was weak sauce for sure. I will definitely be back again though. Service was very good and the food was very good 👌.

Granny D's is the best place to go for breakfast in the area. The wait was a little long, but well worth it. The food and the service was amazing. All of the food came out hot and tasty. The pancake is a must have. It takes up an entire plate! The breakfast tacos are delicious and filling. Everything hit the spot. We definitely will be returning to this restaurant in the future.

My wife and I love this place for breakfast. Haven't tried lunch or dinner, but the mountain biscuit is to DIE for!!! The service is super friendly and the cleanliness is top notch. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Wow, great breakfast! The pancakes are huge and delicious! My daughter had the carrot cake pancake and I had the bananas foster, not sure which was better, but they were both outstanding. My wife had the biscuits and gravy and their gravy was some of the best we've ever had. You won't be disappointed with spending your money here.

Well, sorry to say, but, very dissappointed in the time it took to get our food. And when we finally did it was cold. But the worst part was the restrooms. Holy cow, how discusting. We won't be back.

Always great food, service was super fast today! Our food tasted awesome and as always we had leftovers! Our waitress was attentive and had a great sense of humor, so glad we have this place to rely on for good home cooking and nice atmosphere😊

I ordered the egg and pancake plate. I had to share the pancake with my husband, it was that big and about an inch thick! Soooooo fluffy! Everything was good! We're going back tonight for dinner! For dinner, we went back and I had the 1lb BLT!

Very friendly, home cooking, breakfast all day hole in the wall that you must try. the pancakes are a whole dinner plate size, and they even have a few breakfast tacos. Country style dinner is also served and lots of sandwiches and other options. Yum!

Food is delicious, wait staff is friendly you get a lot of food for your buck. Prices are reasonable. The plates are huge and the servings are massive. There was a small wait due to the place being packed. There is only one stall in the restroom and they are short staffed. There was 3 waitresses for the whole restaurant. Small home town country goodness. Worth the drive and wait.

First timer and I was so impressed! The food was so delicious, the quantity was generous, and our waitress was so friendly. Wish I got her name -- she didn't wear a name tag. Definitely returning soon!

First time at Granny D's, Canyon Lake Texas. We each tried one of their sandwiches. One was a fried fish sandwich on a very good sour dough bread and the other was a chicken sandwich. Both were served with a pickle slice and sandwiches had lettuce and tomato. Sides such as onion rings or french fries were separate. There was a lunch buffet but it was about to close and little was left. People must have liked it!!We noticed they had a cooler with cakes, and when someone wanted a slice they would remove them and go to kitchen to slice and then bring that to the customer, and put cake back in cooler.One sandwich had something black that might have been from grill. Otherwise everything very tasty. Country style.

I love their giant chippy pancake! They also have good hash browns. It’s a perfect place to take your family. The antiques hanging on the walls are fun to look at and the slightly torn booths give it that cozy vibe. I have only been here for breakfast but they have lunch and dinner some days. The wait staff is friendly and the service is good. This is one of my favorite places to eat at!

Great food if you order the pancakes get a small stack they are huge and yummy. The apple caramel pecan pancakes are so gooood.

We got the 3 egg omelet and big dam breakfast plates. The omelet was really great. Went well with ham and mushrooms. The dam breakfast was amazing. It was like a grand slam from Dennys. Sausage, eggs, bacon, ham and a massive pancake. One pancake could feed two people. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Will be back again for sure

It is totally worth the wait!! Everything on the menu is scrumptious, and the portions are Texas sized!!! Too busy diggin in to take pics...sorry.

Charming local breakfast spot. Texas sized portions and many fun pancake/waffle flavors. Good value, most plates under $9. Server Shelly was very nice, called me sweetie at the end of every interaction, which I of course am a huge fan of.

Good lord this place was fantastic! The food portions were Texas sized and I loved how everything tasted. Biscuits and gravy were so good and I don't order that very often. My wife's pancake was just insane. One of the last home cookin places left around.

Friends were bragging about this place so we came to try it. Waited 45min for our 2 plates and it wasn't even that busy inside. We were seated right away with no wait and ordered immediately. Finally got our food and they got my order wrong so had to change it. Then they never brought out my home fries. But I wasn't going to wait another 45min for those. Waitress was nice, food was average in my opinion. Neither my husband or I scraped our plates clean so it wasn't amazing. I have zero intentions of coming back.

We got there when they opened because we've seen how busy it gets. I think the server's name is Brittany (shes been there 12 years) she was the ONLY server, and she was very busy. She handled it very well considering she had no help and kept her cool even though she had 10+ tables including the 6 of us. Once the other girls finally showed up they all seemed to have no clue what they were doing. The food took awhile to come out but it was great! Will definitely go back, as long as we can have the same server!!

Some of the most delicious meals you’ll find in the area. Rustic little diner but always a crowd, always very satisfying.

Awesome friendly staffing and great delicious food

First time here and we had lunch around 12:30 on a Friday, the place was packed! It took a while to get waited on and food took a while to come out too, but my complaints are about the portions of the meats on our plate. As you can see in my photos we received plenty of sides, but the pork chop and chicken breast are very small. With that being said they were very tasty. Our waitress was very sweet, but very over helmed and her tables were all over the place so the service was not great. Definitely will try again, but not during rush hour times.

We love Granny D's! Excellent service, delicious food, huge portions, and reasonable prices! It's our go to breakfast place whenever we visit Canyon Lake.

Excellent food! The onion rings were outstanding! The fried corn on the cob was out of this world good! Everything else was really good as well. The staff was very friendly and took care of everything with a smile! I will be back and I would recommend this place to everyone!

Oh my goodness! The food is so good! Large pancakes! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Even the customers were friendly and helpful with giving recommendations on what menu items to try. Plus, Grand D's gives military discounts!

Great prices and big portions! The only bad this is that the tables aren't big enough! If you are sitting in a booth, then the person sitting in the outside only has a little bit of table to use due to the table not going all the way to the end of the booth.

Was quite disappointed. Was waiting for a long time to make it there. Got the breakfast. Pancakes were raw, eggs were dry, sausage was okay hash browns could have been cooked longer. And the bacon I always tell wherever I go and get bacon. I want it black and burnt and crispy.It wasn't that busy that day so I can understand why such bad food.I'm sure other experiences people have had are much more positive than mine. I always give each place the benefit of the doubt. Maybe I'll try it one more time hopefully it was an off-day.

Great family-friendly place. Waitresses are quick on their feet and friendly. Home cooking. Country feel. Nice place to day-trip to with friends or family. Prices were reasonable for the large portions they serve. Near Canyon Lake Dam.
